Greenlee County was formed in 1909 and named after Mason (Masin) Greenlee, an early colonizer in the Clifton region. Being Arizona's 14th county and a part of Graham County, it has Clifton as its largest city and county seat.
With a population of around eight thousand with about three thousand households and two thousand families it is the least populous county of Arizona. The ethnic composition of Greenlee is Non- Hispanic or White, Asian, Native American, Black or African American, Pacific Islander, Hispanic or Latino of any race and two or more other races.
